I am trying to help a non profit agency ge thier web site
up to date, what i am having trouble with is a Hover
button that is used to navigate through the web site.

You can't see it when viewing in the Normal mode only when
it is in preview can you see the hover button. It works
fine and i don't want to delete it, just edit, update, and
add to it.
How do i do it?

Thanks Wes

Hover buttons are not supported in windows XP / IE6
unless the user has downloaded and installed
Java Virtual Machine.
Most people are no longer using them.

Let's try it one more time.........is it Win 98 or Win ME?

The problem with resting on your laurels is that eventually you are sitting
on dead branches.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought the point was that if Windows xp folks
won't usually be able to see your hover button, it would be better to come
up with a different navigation plan. Why use something that many people will
find frustrating?

Sorry, it's Win ME.

And i agree, there are a lot of "Dead branches" on this
web site that i just took over, that is why i want to be
able to edit this, and do away with it, then put something
better on the site.

Have patience, please!

Yeah I would think the same thing too, what i don't
understand is how the former webmaster put it on there in
the first place, he has XP! This is old and i need to get
rid of it.

IMHO
the best thing to do for a non-profit is to set them up with a content
management system or CMS. there are some really great ones out there:
PHP-nuke http://phpnuke.org
ASP portal http://aspportal.net
CMSimple http://cmsimple.dk
it may be a little more difficult to deploy initially but it's well worth
it. the company will be able to maintain their content with just a browser.
you can leave bits and pieces of any of those systems out and rename or
otherwise modify other pieces. the list above starts with the heaviest and
descends to the simplest. I've used them all and would recomend any of
them.
