Ok I had a anti-virus program running and I set it on auto delete. Then I walked away when I got back half of my windows/system32 file had been deleted. Now i cannot open or run n e of my programs and iam in dire need of help. The only thing i can think of is just reinstalling windows, but I figured i post here 1st and hope to get a answer.

Hi HeavY-deE,

Try running SFC /SCANNOW first, before resorting to performing an
overinstall of Windows.

If Patti's suggestion does not fix the problem then try doing a Repair
Install of your Windows XP as per the instructions at
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

That will preserve your installed applications, user data files, and
program configuration settings. All Windows Updates will have to be
reinstalled.

Good luck

Neither suggestion worked :(

Incredible. Do you mean to say you managed to do all that, including a
repair / reinstall in just 5 minutes???
(shakes head)

Perhaps the missing files in System32 folder were placed there by other
applications that you have installed.
