Is i possible to configure an XP emedded with an GPO to
autologon and then autostart an application. There should
be no way to reach other application or the desktop. If
you terminate the application should the computer shut
down?

Hello,

Automatic Log in

You can try the PowerToy Tweak UI, it will allow you to automatically log on
with or without a password. And it will also allow you to change various
other setting.

For XP Pro/Home

You can accomplish the same thing by:

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password
To Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user
name and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you
start your computer.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

To get a program to start automatically all you have to do is put a short
cut into the "Startup" folder in the start menu.

As for logging off when the program is closed, I'm not sure how to do that,
or if that's even possible.
