JunkGreat.exe??? Anyone heard of this?

I recently found an executable on my system named JunkGreat.exe. I have
searched extensively on about every search engine you can name by now, and
not one of them has ANY reference to a "JunkGreat.exe". Not one reference??
That's a first for me.

Anyway, anyone have any idea what it is...or was (I deleted when I
discovered it.)

Also, I have current virus software, spyware (several apps) and a good
firewall. I don't typically find random crap like this on my sys.

Right click the file, then left click on Properties. When the Properties
box for that file opens click the Version tab, then click on the various
listings under the heading Item Name, and see if you can glean some
information about the file. It's not a Windows XP system file, and with a
name like that, it's doubtful that I would execute it, unless I knew exactly
what it was. Even if you have Spyware utilities, you can't be 100% sure
that they have all definitions for every spyware/adware/malware file.
Sometimes a setup for a freeware/shareware program can include other
unwanted goodies.

Sure, it was some garbage you downloaded and perhaps installed.

Not trying to be rude here, but for having a "name" like Plato, your reply
showed little or no "depth". I fully understand that any application on my
computer that I did not install manually was installed via some drive-by
a-hole company that feels it's ok to invade one's computer. If it were my
home they were invading, they would find themselves missing a kneecap. I'm
from Montana, and doing so is just fine around here... I'm not advocating
violence, but someone is advocating the invasion of my private "domain", and
I won't stand for it.

I appreciate your taking the time to explain the fundamentals of "Installed
Applications 101". It's been a treat...
