Does anyone have a suggestion as to how one can disable or control the Outlook 2003 Junk Email filter at a global level.

Kind Regards,

Nebojsa,

Thank you for both your response and the presented solution.

You can use OUTLK11.ADM from office 2003 Resource Kit and control Junk Email thru GPO

Hi,

Question regarding the GPO for junk email.

Are we supposed to see the list of safe senders we had in the text file
appended in the Safe senders tab of the outlook client?

Thanks in advance

Yes, if the list actually was imported. Maybe you should back up and explain what steps you went through (especially since the outlk11.adm file contains no in policy setting to actually force Outlook to perform the list import).

Well, here is more info:
Using Exhange 2003 and Outlook 2003 client
Import the template Outlk11.adm
I made a GPO with following information:
Setting State
Junk E-mail protection level Enabled
Permanently delete Junk E-mail Not configured
Trust E-mail from Contacts Not configured
Overwrite or Append Junk Mail Import List Enabled
Specify path to Safe Senders list Enabled
Specify path to Safe Recipients list Not configured
Specify path to Blocked Senders list Not configured

The file safesend.txt includes two domain names (ex: @hotmail.com)
This file is located into a shared folder and the pathname includes
\\servername\share path.
(I also tried with a local path and mapped drive letter)
I made sure the GPO is in force, I also looked in the registry and all the
information are in place.
So all parameters under my control seem to bo OK
BUT... I don't see any domain name in the safe sender list
(Outloo/option/junk email/safe sender tab) and while receiving suspicious
spam email from the safe domain (ex:[email protected]) it is placed in the
junk email, so... not working.

I also checked for updates, all the office suite is up to date.

Thanks in advance

If you look closely at your policy settings, you'll see that there is no policy for actually kicking off the import. The necessary setting is available as a user preference setting or, with a hotfix, can be invoked as a policy setting. The KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;893057 explains.

Thank you so much Sue, my problem was the register value of the
JunkMailImportLists in the
HK_CUR_USER/Soft/Micr/Offi/11.0/Outlook/Options/Mail
