I think you may have forgotten whos newsgroup you are
on... i should have thought twice before I posted my e-
mail. but thanks to this newsgroup and its lack of care
about its users I can look forward to lots of fresh junk
mail every day.
Wrong, Microsoft has no way of preventing email addresses
from being harvested, that's done by bots that scan every
newsgroup every day.
Let's rephrase the above correctly, "thanks to me and my
lack of precautions I can look forward to lots of fresh
junk mail every day".
Don't blame someone else for what you did.[/QUOTE]
I agree.
Email, email addresses, chat, IRC and much more ways to
communicate over the internet are AS secure as sending someone a
postcard.
The contents can easily be read by everyone with enough
knowledge, email addresses are as private as like they are
advertised during CNN's primetime.
Get your self a freeware network sniffer, and watch your network
traffic (even more fun is to monitor you company LAN) and be
supprised what "read-able" information goes accros the network.
So, take precautions, like we have learned some basic
precautions to secure our house and our car.
There is no way to securely share your secrets over the
internet.
If you are quick enough you can trace back this news message and
find me, sitting at the other end of some network cable, typing
a next message.
