Whenever I right clicked on an image and selected "save
picture as", it would automatically save as a jpg. All of
a sudden it now saves every image as an enormous bitmap
file. My computer at work does this also. they both are
Win XP. 2 other computers, I work with have Win 98 & Win
98 v2 and they both save as jpg. All these computers have
IE 6. Where can I go to change the settings from bitmap
to jpg? Thanks, Diana

That generally happens when your cache is full. You can either empty it or
increase its size.

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.

Diana, If your problem was solved by emptying your cache please post back to
this thread. I too, have an interest in this subject.

I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm. I
only delted the files and then went online to test jpgs
and gifs and it worked! thank you also Mart...Henry, go
for it! if it doesn't work, try deleting the cookies as
well. Thanks again! one problem down and 2 to go! Diana
