Until yesterday I was able to view all pictures downloaded with a .jpg
extension. Now I get a messae about File Conversion or Select the encoding,
etc. Both include characters I can't understand; a bunch of mumbo jump.
What happened?
I uninstalled and reinstalled and it didn't change. BTW, I copied the
files to a CD and can view them there but not on the computer.

Is this a Word question? If so, what version? Un/ReInstalled what? What
software did you use to burn the CD? Are they .jpg files or Word files that
contain .jpg images.

Regardless, one of the most likely problems is that you are trying to open
the files directly from the CD. Copy them to your hard drive and open those
copies. See if that makes a difference. If not, post back with the requested
inormation.

I have microsoft works suite 2004. I don't know how they were sent to me
other than pictures were taken of the tomb stones and sent to me. As I said,
I can read them on the CD but I can't see them on the computer any longer.
And I've been viewing them on the computer for at least a year.
