jpg files r making me nuts

i cant view or open only some of my pics saved from the internet tried all!!!!!!!! ("file association" ,open with,renaming, other programs etc. etc. etc)all the image properties say "jpeg file type" but only some wont open in MSPaint or others and win pic viewer says "no preview available".I also have paint shop pro ,image expert,and at one point quick time took over all image files tried so much Ive tried so much im now lost and very stessed out with it

Quicktime will be associated with ONLY the file types that you specify.
Open the QT applet in Control Panel and click the little arrow to the
right of the window. Choose FILE TYPES and UNcheck the boxes (if you wish).

For QT action in the browser, choose BROWSER PLUG-IN in the window, and
click on the MIMEtypes button. Expand each branch by clicking on the +
signs, then UNcheck any file types that you do not want QT to open.

As for saved files. Download this free viewer, which will open virtually
any file type. If the type is wrong, it will alert you. If the file
won't open, it is likely corrupt.

I'm also having this kind of problem. Have you ever fix this problem yet? Most of the picture's ext has been changed to .vbs files I think this is a worm. Any ideas to restore the pics.

If jpg files have been changed to vbs, you probably have the loveletter
virus. Quite an old one, so I guess that means your antivirus software isn't
up-to-date. If you had any MP3s on your computer, you might notice that
they're changed as well.

No hope for the jpgs; they're gone.

Make sure you get the virus off the computer as you're sending it out to
everyone in your email address book.
