I am thinking about buying a new Joystick to play Flight Simulator 2004. Anyone got any ideas on a good and cheap joystick would be a great help.

Thanks

I have a Logitech Wingman Force Feedback USB jobbie. Fairly priced, works well, I'm happy with it.

I did actually try about three or four before deciding on this one.

There again, about the only thing I use it for is Secret Weapons Over Normandy, and I'm quite useless at that :D

I am an avid FS2004 fan as you know and i have a joystick that i would like to reccomend.

The Saitek Cyborg 3d Rumble force - there are 2 similar ones i think, you want the cheaper one! its got a better feel to it, ive used the newer one (its more silver)

yeah anyway its got easy access throttles, a rudder, well placed buttons and a POV hat and nice rumbply thing... USB etc etc its all good.

I payed £30 or £40 for mine but i believe its gone way down.

its awesome - i reccomend it. I only chose it because it got 92% in PC gamer and was the reccomended one for months!

ill post a pic of it hold on

here are the pics...

couldnt decide which to post so am just chucking them all up...

Thanks for all the advice. I will think about buying the Saitek Cyborg 3d Rumble force but my bro has given me his, it is a Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital. I am having some problems with it. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers but my pc is unable to detect the joystick. I have checked the bios to make sure the port is enbaled and it is. The game controllers section in the control pannel just says 'Not Connected'

Any ideas??

is it a serial or USB connection?

If i remember rightly, i had that exact same joystick before i got this one - yellow connector on end of lead and also supplies with a serial to USB connector?

The Classic

I still use the classic joystick, never failed me still works beautifully and I cannot justify spending even a penny when this one seems to be going on and on and on.................:D:D:D

The Classic

I would never know this one has become a classic, it was only due to the fact that Matt posted that link, Thanks Matt:)

My computer has detected the Joystick but it has not detected that it has a throttle function on it. It is a serial connection.

Any ideas?

got the right drivers for it? you arent just installing the windows default 2 button 2 axis or whatever... right?

I know what the problem is now. I installed drivers for the Logitech Wingman Extreme which does not have throttle control but the joystick i have the Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital is not on the list of game controllers.

How do i get it there?

Well, first off, locate and download the correct drivers from Logitech.

Then delete all current drivers (Control Panel/Add Remove and also delete relevant Logitech Folder) and reboot. If Windows detects the joystick on boot, when prompted, browse to the drivers you've just downloaded and install.

If Windows does not detect joystick, install correct drivers.

Then see if it's listed in Control Panel/Game Controllers.

This is definitely a weird one. How many serial ports does your motherboard have? If it has two, try the other one. And when you're in game controllers in control panel, is it already detected or do you have to click 'add'?
