Can anybody tell me how to install a game port? When I install my joy stick
I get a message that my game port is not installed.

AMD Athlon 2000
512 megs ram
Windows XP

Depends on where that game port is located. If it is on your sound card,
then you probably need to update the drivers for that card from the
manufacturer's web site. If it is on your motherboard, then you need to
figure which product you're running and update from the manufacturer's web
site.
 
Most gameports use the Microsoft standard gameport driver in XP. This
driver is very limited an will not be updated.

If the device is third-party hardware such as a sound card, then the
manufacturer would be the one to supply the drivers. Microsoft doesn't
write drivers for any devices. The drivers included in the original,
October, 2001, XP release were furnished by the various hardware
manufacturers. As we've seen with the graphics card drivers, they didn't
even include OpenGL support until users updated.
