The issue of installing new fonts has been raised.

MY question is that I am VERY anal about my computer. I like
things neat, tidy, and where I know where they are. I put
things in specific places, and I want to know they are
there.

For example, I don't allow my games to install under Program
Files.

I have created a Games folder, and they all go THERE.

At any rate, back to fonts.

I have recently installed probably 100 fonts for a client,
and then did it for myself.

I put my fonts folder on C so I could access it easily.

My question is this.

Once I have successfully installed the fonts into the
Windows routines/program, and they are "internalized and
incorporated"

do I need to LEAVE the "MSFONTS" directory on my C drive?

Or are they now all "in Windows", and I can move the
directory-- or delete it altogether (it's all still archived
on several CDs)

Thanks.

As long as the font files exist in the proper fonts folder in windows, you
can delete/move the folder you created. Those files aren't doing anything
now.

There's nothing "anal" about being orderly, and being able to find files
!!!!!!!

....I wish that most of the people who I help with PC's were more "anal" !!

If you delete either the fonts or the directory you're not going to be
able to use them. "internalized and incorporated" means that the
programs know where to look to find the fonts in question.
