JIT compiler for virtual machine enable?

In internet options advanced tab I have "Use Java 2 v1.4.1_02 for<applet>" checked and the only box for Microsoft VM that is checked is "JIT compiler for virtual machine enable". Does this last one have to be checked if I am using the sun version of java?

No. In fact, having both checked causes problems.

I had already unchecked it prior to reading your post and downloaded the updated sun java. And checked to see if java was working and it was. But just curious what problems does it cause
