Hello,
This probably not the correct new group to post this message but I cannot
find another one that fits the bill. I use Outlook for my e-mail. I
receive alot of e-mail that is not addressed to me and has complete
non-sense in the letter part. An example is one I got today which reads

aerate bison armchair attainder demolish coagulate attentive emergent
colicky gosh
enthusiasm flirtatious burro carlton indoctrinate
magpie rainstorm domesticate exemplary finale ecology behave scary l'vov

I just cannot figure out why I get this stuff delivered to my mail box which
is not addressed to me and who has time to sit around and create these
meaningless pieces of e-mail which make absolutely no sense. Or am I
missing something, like secret messages contained within the text?
A frustrated e-mail user

They are spam. Spammers send spam for a variety of reasons. They may be
testing their spamming software, or searching for valid addresses.

If you put your email address out on the internet for others to see you'll
get SPAM. Nothing you can do about it. Just an FYI, you might want to post
to the groups with an invalid email address (such as billATcomcast.net or
something like that) as there are pieces of software that spammers use that
will troll the newsgroups for valid email addresses as well.

Actually I hit send too soon...you can invest in an anti-spam software which
will help. It won't get rid of 100% of spam, but it will help.

It's junk mail. Some SPAMmer has your address and is sending you
advertisements. The garbage words are included to foil any anti-SPAM
scanning software.

It is addressed to you, you just can't see the address. No one "sits
around" to create the messages, it's all done with a SPAM program.

The one I use ([email protected]) is a good one because it actually
accepts all the mail sent to it (and will even send back a delivery receipt
if asked), but it simply throws all mail away. See
