I got sucked into deleting this file from both of my
computers! I know better now, but I need to get this
file back into my computer.... can you please tell me
how? I have xp operating system on both computers.
Thanks!

Write this down as it is a fix for any missing or corrupt
XP files. Put your XP CD in the disk drive and when the
selection screen comes up close it out. Now go>start\run
and type in sfc /scannow and be sure to put the space
after sfc. This will do a System File Check and replace
any missing or corrupt Microsoft XP OS files. Good luck.

Jon;

jdbgmgr.exe is not a critical windows file. It is only necessary to have
it installed if you need to debug Java Scripts in webapages. Otherwise, you
can just forget about it. No need to reinstall.

As you've apparently found out, the message telling you to delete
it was a hoax. Fortunately, as hoaxes go, the effect of this one
is very mild.

Yes, it was a Windows file and no, it shouldn't have been
deleted. But the file is the Java debug manager, needed only by
Java programmers. Since you're obviously not a Java programmer
(if you were, you would have known not to delete it), there's no
real harm been done. You don't need the file, and although it's
easy enough to get back, you don't need to bother.

You do not need it. It is used only by people developing Java programs,
for debugging them.

Not that there is a real trojan that takes advantage by using the same
name (or very similar) - this one has an icon that is a screwdriver, it
should be deleted
