There seem to be a number of people who are experiencing similar sorts of
problems after upgrading to IE6 SP1 and then applying some of the recent
security patches to IE.
However, I only saw one person who claimed he fixed the problem (his
jscript.dll file was encrypted for some reason). Unfortunately, none of my
DLLs appear to be encrypted so I'm at a complete loss as to how I might fix
this problem. Unfortunately you can't uninstall IE6 nor, when you re-run
setup, will it do anything because it detects that the latest version is
already installed.
Does ANYONE have any idea how to fix this problem? Is Microsoft aware of
the problem and working on a fix? I'd settle for just being able to
re-install and re-install IE6 so I can get it working again. I'd HATE to
have to download Netscape but it doesn't look like I have any choice.
By the way, coincident with this problem, I also can't download ANYTHING
from Windows Update.
