ok well I have searched everywhere to find a solution to this. When I install
the new java software (JRE) it installs corectly, but it does not work with
Internet Explorer, or with any other browser that I use. I have tried doing
this on a different user account, I have also tried clearing my registry and
files and reinstalling it. none of it worked. I have enables java in all my
browsers also.

Why wont it work, and how can I get it to work?

Thanks if you can help =)

The Sun JRE usually configures itself to work with your browsers when it
installs. I have had no problem with MSIE, Mozilla, or Opera.

Did you download the JRE directly from Sun? Did you install JRE when in a user
account with Administrator privileges? Do you have a firewall or antivirus
program that prohibits writing to your Registry? Did you inadvertently delete
something important when you "cleared" your Registry?

In the Java Control Panel (installed by JRE in your Control Panel), go to the
Java tab and check the runtime settings. Does it point to the correct
application folder for the JRE?

If all else fails, you might uninstall the JRE and re-install it, paying close
attention to any prompts regarding plug-in installation and browser support.

Umm there isnt a Java CP. Thats strange because When java used to work there
was. I have also tryed installing it without my anti virus software on.
Nothing. Yes I am most certain that I didnt delete anything that I shouldnt
have in my registry.

Sounds like an incomplete installation, then. Uninstall the JRE, do a fresh
download of the package, and re-install.

Ive done that already. i have no clue why it isnt working. i have even tried
a sys. restore, but it still didnt work.
