The company I work for has a web based point of sale program that runs thru
IE. When we run it under XP and IE 6 or 7, it runs fine. With Vista, the log
on screen comes up, and an employee can sign in and click the module he or
she needs to run. Unfortunately; that is all that happens. After clicking on
the modules button, a java window tries to open and immediately closes. Next,
an error message appears and says "Internet Explorer has encountered an error
and has been closed" the only option is to click OK.
After checking some other sites, I dug deeper and found the program creates
an Oracle directory in program files called:
