According to http://www.virtualmachine.tk/ my XPPro here does not yet have
MS VM on it. In IE6 Internet Options/Advanced/Microsoft VM there is a check
mark only on "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled". In the Java (Sun)
box 'Use Java 2 v 1.42_03' is checked.

In the past there have been some issues with Java-enabled sites (using way
too much RAM, for one), and as a result I've uninstalled/re-installed the
current Java.

My question is: aware that MS support is no longer available, am I flirting
with future dilemmas by downloading and installing VM?

MS still supports VM by way of an update that you can install from your
update scan. Some say that VM is a better app than Sun.

HTH, JAX

But can they both be expected to play well in the same sandbox together?

From what I understand, it should be one or the other. Perhaps someone else
will have a more specific answer on that.
