Hi, I recently bought a tower with Windows Xp on.
I was given some speakers from a friend and they worked fine with everthing
to begin with.
One day I noticed they weren't working, I assumed they were knackered so I
bought some new ones. I have connected them up and they only work with 'AV
Rack' which was installed on the computer when I purchased it.
I have gone through the troubleshooter for windows and it cannot help me.
Any ideas?? Any help gratefully received!!

Use Belarc Advisor to determine the "Exact" sound card/chip in your
PC. Then go to the Vendor (PC or Motherboard) website and get the
latest driver package. Prior to installing, go to Add/Remove programs
in Control Panel and Uninstall any existing Audio control/Support prgms.
If the system has AV Rack, then it's likely a Realtek product.
Belarc Advisor downloads from here:

Hi i've detimermined i've got Realtek AC'97 Audio. The box my motherboad came
in says 'foxconn'. My tower case has no identification on so would i be
looking for Foxconn?

Right, I've Downloaded the driver from Realtek. I only query i have is that
according to the computer the card is working fine. can it say that and not
be true? and why would a card stop working all of a sudden when it was fine
the day before?
