Hi
When I click on "start" I have no control panel icon, How do I get it back
or access the control panel?

thank you,
Mike Haines

Temp workaround: From your desktop, double-click My Computer. You should see links to Control Panel.

You may use Regedit, then take a look at contents of this key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load

Maurice,
Thanks for the help, but what should I see and or do with the contents of
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load ?

How about Start, Settings, Control Panel?

Back in Regedit,
Right click "don't load" key and select Export.
Click on it once more, then select delete.
Exit regedit

Hi Maurice,
I tried that and I still don't have control panel when I click start.
Control panel is accessible, however, on the left side of my computer page.

Have you tried the following? Clicking Start then right click on an empty
space in the Start Panel and then left click on Properties. Next, left
click on Customize (on the Start Menu). Now click on the Advanced Tab. In
the Start Menu Items the first item is Control Panel for which there are
three options, select either of the first two options and then click OK,
Apply and OK. You should now find the Control Panel on your Start Page
Panel.
