Okay all,
I don't know if this is the forum to post this message, but
none of the others seem to fit. Besides that, I only have
one more "tech service freebie" from MS, and I don't want
to waste it on something that MAY turn out to be a simple fix.
Here it is: I open 'Control Panels'>'Fonts'. Windows
Explorer hesitates for a moment (which it usually does,
because I have a lot of fonts) then gives me an error
message, generates an error report that says the probelem
is in the 'Kernell32.dll,' and closes. If I use Windows
Explorer and go to the 'Windows' folder and "click" on
'Fonts' manually, it does the same thing, but gives no
specific error message, nor generate an error report.
This only happens when I enter the 'Fonts' folder (so far).
I have the SP1 patch, and have run the 'repair' from my
windows XP installation disk. I don't want to do a
reinstall, as I can't afford to lose all my files, nor do I
have anyplace to store them, if it comes to that (unless I
burn tons of CDs). Does ANYONE know what the problem is?
Can anyone point me in the right direction, at least?
