I am operating with XP home edition and had originally
set up the computer to automatically login. Recently, I
decided to use the computer at my office and disabled the
auto login feature. Unfortunately the next time it booted
up it asked for my password and didn't take what I
thought I had put in. I have spent hours doing
combinations of all passwords I have used in the past
year...to no avail.

What now? Reload XP from scratch? and what happens to all
the programs and information that I have on the computer
now?

I have a better idea. When your computer boots up, press
F8 to bring up the boot options and select Safe Mode.
Once you get that started, Xp will ask you for your
password for your acct but it also has a Safe Mode Admin
account w/ no password on it. You can go into that
profile, then go to the start menu, select run. Type "net
user <username you dont know password to> *" and hit
enter and it will ask you for your new password. Reboot,
and bam you're done! Reply if you need more help.
Thanks,
Brian
