ive deleted my user

i decided to install the small buisiness version of sophos antivirus, and when i rebooted my laptop i started in the root administrator account, i now cannot get back onto my user, as the user that was mine is a guest account, all my steeings are still in documents and settings so i can rebuild it if i have to, i have tried to use system restore but it has no data.....does anyone know how i can get my user back, or will i have to rebuild it compleatly, im running xp pro

only administrator appeared on the welcome screen, and when i changed 2 classic logon i had a new account in my name, i think i will just have to copy everything back, i think i will try out linux 1st tho.
 
Depends how you login, if you use the welcome screen the user name should be
listed if you have the windows 2000 style screen, have you tried entering
the original user name you have "lost".
If that doesn't help then create a new user account from control panel>users
and copy over the documents into the new user.

Well, at least with linux, when something weird happens, you know it was you
and not the O/S that did something stupid ;)
