iTunes problem

Hi all and happy 2006,
My dear old Mum mailed me and has a problem with her itunes as per below...
"Now, can you help me with iTunes/ I had it and used it for months and then it acted up on me so I removed it and tried to download it again but it wont have it, It tells me ( error.1606 could not locate network location/.) and suggests I go to wndow installer help. In my ADD/REMOVE box it has the windows installer, but there are no amount of it on the other side where it give the number of mbs, I dont know what do to find the answer."

to anybody with similar problem, I went to this page...

....downloaded and re-installed the wininstaller file, used msinstaller
cleanup utility to clear away all traces of itunes and Quicktime, used
registry First Aid to clear up any issues/bad paths and rebooted. Then I
re-installed iTunes and Quicktime no problem. Probably the long way around
but got there in the end! More of a techy than PC savvy I suppose!!
