Why does it take a day for my question to show up in my newsgroups on my
home computer. This is the only newsgroup that I have a problem with. Does
anyone know anything about this?

Thanks
Richard

Be happy it shows up at all. I've had ten not show up on MS servers
today, although they do show up on other servers.

It's probably the news server you are using. Try switching to the
Microsoft server, msnews.micrsosoft.com. I have no problem with it
here.

Do you leave your newgroups open after you post? My posts show up in minutes
as long as I close and re-open my newsreader after I post a question. I use
Outlook Express.

With OE and your Verizon server, all you need do it hit F5 to see your
new post appear, no need to open and close OE. Richard is not referring
to your Verizon server but to MS' servers which have a delay, why I am
not sure but I have some conspiratorial theories ;-)

Your wondering why some of your posts do not show up. You are jumping through 5 different carriers after your message leaves your location and 3 of them are in Germany. Good chance that some can get lost in cyberspace.

Below is the order in reverse of the carriers after it leaves your ISP

phx.gbl!newsfeed00.sul.t-online.de
t-online.de
news.karotte.org
news2.arglkargh.de
news.mixmin.net!
aioe.org!

I find it has a two to five minute delay and the other servers I use are
instantaneous. But maybe that's because you live closer to Redmond?

Doesn't explain the delay when I use MS servers directly like this.

Is it like the 5 second broadcast delay on 'live' events? So the censors
have time to react...?

More than likely it's because Microsoft's servers are running Windoze. :-)
Most of UseNet runs on Linux.
