Andrea

I'm using Windows XP at work on a shared computer. I
signed in to Messenger once a long time ago, and now it
signs me in automatically every time the computer gets
turned on. It can get embarassing if someone sends me a
naughty message, but someone else is using the computer!

I tried unistalling it in the Windows control panel and
in MSN.ca, but all that did was get rid of the icons.
It's still signing me in every morning.

I'd still like to use Messenger now and then, but I'd
like to be able to have control over when I sign in.

Please help!

Greetings Andrea,

To turn off the automatic login, so it can't login by itself, click the Start Button, then
click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account
name, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network
Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click
'Remove'.
