It is stuck

I am attempting to install windows xp on my pc with
windows 95. It get fine then it starts giving error
messages saying some file could not be transferred. I
click cancel and setup without it and it keeps going fine
until it gets to the registering components and it stops
running at 13 min. I can't even get out of it. I reboot
and it start right back where it stopped. It is driving me
crazy. I want it off so the i install windos 98 second
editio instead. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
