my XP is not part of the AD domain "StandAlone" but its in
the same subnet
I configure my Network card with Domain DNS to resovle the
names in LAN but I couldn't do that until I join the domain
Ist MUST to join the domain to be able to use the DNS to
resolve the names if not what could be wrong

XP user:

XP does not have to be a domain member to use a DNS server that is in a
Win2k or Win2k3 domain.

Some items to review in XP:
Set the primary DNS suffix to that of the domain:
i.e., xyz.local
Use CPanel: Network Connections: Advanced: Network Identification: Computer
Name tab: Change button: More button

Set the workgroup to that of the domain:
i.e., xyzdomain.local
Use CPanel: Network Connections: Advanced: Network Identification: Computer
Name tab: Change button: Workgroup field

Set XP to register its address in DNS:
Use CPanel: Network Connections: right mouse click on Local Area Connection:
select Properties: db click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP): Advanced button:
DNS tab: check to select "Register this connection's addresses in DNS"

Reboot
Run ipconfig /all in a command prompt window to check your work
