Hello Guys,
I am facing someissue with my browser (IE6) hat it hangs for
some 20-30 seconds everytime while loading a page in IE. This has started
happening since sometime back without any changes being done in settings. I
even tried instaling IE7 but nothing changed.. Can someone advice what coulld
be the problem and also a possible solution. Appreciate your help here!!

Thanks

Try changing your home page (default web site) to another web site you are
familiar with and see if the problem still occurs.

Hi JS,
It is not working buddy:( See the problem occurs every time a new
page is loaded in the browser. It's not only about the home page. The page
stops loading and when I double click on the page the title bar says (Not
Responding). What to do now??

Yes..everything is absolutely fine. Network is not an issue. But whether I m
connected in office or at home, this issue persists. You can imagine the
frustration that happens here. Do i need to download IE again??

I'm not a fan of IE7, I use IE6 and Firefox. You might try installing
Firefox and see if the problem is still there.

I take it that you're talking about the same machine? A laptop that you use
both at the office and at home? This all sounds suspiciously like malware,
but it could be your IE settings, or something like Norton Internet Security
(which might as well be malware itself for all the problems it causes.)

Use Internet Options to delete Temporary Internet Files, including Offline
Content, then use the Settings button to limit the size of the TIF cache to
something low, like 64 MB. Then delete all cookies. Test your connection
speed.

If you have some program like Spybot Search & Destroy, and use it's Immunize
feature (SpywareBlaster is another similar app), turn off, undo or disable
the application for testing purposes. Next, do a Search for HOSTS (no
extension) and rename it to HOSTS.BAK. Test your connection speed again.

If you have a firewall, try disabling it. I don't know what you're using for
security, but you should try turning off everything except the basic virus
scanner. No internet or web or network "security". (Email scanning should be
turned off permanently.)

If you're still having problems, the next thing to do is a serious malware
investigation. Start here:

If it happen all the time, not just the Pick time for your ISP or the
Website (s) server then you have a problem on your machine, either a
third-party program or a malware infection on your system?.
I don't know what version you are on Now?, but most of the cleaning
instruction below will work with either Browser.
First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.
How to manage Add-Ons:

2... You need to be sure your system is clean from malwares and Viruses by
scanning for them
Scan for malwares from here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

Open a run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your machine, does this help?.
HTH.

In addition to my previous, or perhaps before it, you need to consider
whether your own networking setup on your machine isn't to blame. I'm not an
expert in that field, and what I usually do is get rid of everything and
start from scratch.

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
