Issue after Upgrade

Problem Description: I just upgraded my system to Office
2003 and I seem to be having a couple of issues with going
back and forth between Access 2003 and Access XP as
described below:

1. While opening a database in Access 2003 that was
created in Access XP, I get a error message that basically
states "...broken reference...OWC10.dll version 1.1". When
I go into a module and select "Tools" and "Reference", I
see a "MISSING" note by the specific reference. I can
delete it or I can replace it with the OWC10.dll file
specific to Office 2003. If I replace the reference and
then open the database in Access 2003, the database opens
with no error. However, if I replace the reference and
then open the database Access XP, I get the same error
message. (FYI, I know this error was fixed by running
Office Service Pack 3 with Office XP).

2. If I uncheck the "MISSING" reference as stated above
and then open my database in Access 2003, the database
opens without the error message. However, when I open the
database in Access XP, no error comes up but it takes a
REALLY long time for the database to open. If I close out
and then I open it in Access XP again, the database opens
in a normal time frame. However, when I open that same
database in Access 2003 that was opened in Access XP, it
takes a REALLY long time to open the database. This cycle
continues when going back and forth from version to
version.

Is there something I can do about this or is there a patch
soon to be released to correct this? Since most of my
office works in Office XP and only a couple of people are
testing Office 2003 (including me), I am forced to
uninstall Access 2003 and reinstall Access XP. I can not
risk damaging the databases already created or risk
causing big delays for fellow employees.

Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Lauren Maurer

Lauren,
The key to doing what you are trying to do is to split your database. You
can use the Database Splitter wizard to accomplish this for you. First, you
split the XP database. Second, Give your XP users a copy of the XP frontend.
Then, using a copy of the XP frontend, convert it to A2003. YOu and the
other Office 2003 users need to have a copy of the 2003 frontend.
