Hello,

I have a task in my Scheduled Tasks folder on a XP Home PC that is labeled
"ISP Signup Reminder". It is set to execute
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\OOBE\OOBEBALN.EXE /sys /i /n:1". Can I safely delete
this task?

I have read past articles in this newsgroup relating to Windows activation
and setup files when I searched for OOBEBALN. I bought this PC from Dell
and I am assuming that the activation was taken care of before I received
the PC or during the initial setup.

TIA,

Peter

I suspect you can. OOBEBALN.EXE is part of the Windows XP Out of Box
Experience{OOBE}. As implied by the name, OOBE is intended to run once
after you complete Windows XP setup. OOBE wizard helps you complete of setup
actions after you initially install Windows XP.
