What is the ISO recorder? How do you know you have it on your computer?

Thank you;

It's a "virtual" recorder. Rather than writing the files to CD or DVD, it
writes them to a file in a format that can be written to CD or DVD. It's
essentially the entire contents, structures and locations included, of a CD
or DVD in one file.

You make one image, then you can burn it to CD or DVD as many times as you
like. This can speed up the process of making multiple copies.

As a practical example, if you have a bootable CD, you can make an ISO image
of it, burn that to CD, and the copy will be bootable. If, on the other
hand, you simply used Explorer to copy all the files and burned them to a
new CD, the result would *not* be bootable. Simply copying will not bring
over the boot image files, or put them in exactly the right place.

You know you have it if your CD/DVD burning software offers you the choice
of creating an image or using a CD or DVD. Or, if you see ISO Recorder, a
standalone program, in Add/Remove programs or your Start Menu. Or, if some
other Explorer extension commands appear when you right-click on an ISO
image.
