Hi BB,

It's usually a CD converted into a file.
Game manufacturers don't use .iso files, instead
they ship their product to customers on real CD's.

Im guessing iso files are msotly used in software pirates

ISO formats are used by a lot of companies to limit the size of the
download. Microsoft does it in beta testing a lot. I trust Microsoft's
files, but not sure I would download an ISO from some web site which isn't
really known to me or is offering something that has been stolen in the
first place. Can you trust a thief not to spread a virus through a
download?
