this isnt really a big problem, but when i go to
properties for the taskbar and customize the inactive
icons,. the part were it says PAST ICONS, there will be
like

MSN - not signed in
Trillian
etc...

the icons are like Mcafee, and volume. and stuff. like
for winamp agent there is a volume thing(like near the
clock) and Mcafee is a aol icon. mostly everything on
there doesnt have a proper icon. this doesnt screw my
computer up. but is there a way i can get rid of them or
something. is this normal?

The Customize/Hide Inactive Icons feature has always been buggy.
Fortunately only your Past Items are effected, which is something one can
live with. All of my Past Items have the generic closed folder icon. At
least you have some variety. : ) If it really bugs you though, and you
feel comfortable editing the Registry, you can get rid of the existing Past
Items:

But, new Past Items will begin to be generated after the old ones are
cleared. Since clearing the Past Items doesn't fix the "wrong icon"
problem, you'll have to decide whether it's worth the bother of editing the
Registry for something that doesn't effect your system's performance, and
that is hidden from your view anyway.
