hiya all my mates want to buy this Dell pc please tell me what u think

P4 3.0ghz
512mb PC3200
80gb harddrive
48x cd rw
no sound card
on board vga
17inch tft monitor
keyboard and mouse
dell printer
free delivery

total price £367

What does everyone reckon?

I rekon its bloody good value for money
i make it approx 500 quid. what do u think?

Doesn't seem bad for the money, although I can't imagine games would run too well on it. For that price with a 17" TFT, thats pretty good :D

It's ok ...

It's an 'entry level' PC priced accordingly ... take the TFT away and you have a very basic system by today’s standards. Onboard Video should be avoided, especially if you will be playing any games.

Forget about free this-n-that, I can assure you, you aren’t getting it for nothing.

However, for a complete "shop bought" system it has a good price ... just look a little closer and have a really good look under the hood.

Dell are the only, pre-built, company I would/could recommend … but, really look close as to what you are getting.

;)

cheers

nah no gamers on this buy

i imaigne that there would be an agp slot should they need to install a better graphics card.

i expect so

bt still what u rekon kgb?

im thinking of buying one now!

If it's the 3000 it has no graphics slot, (AGP or PCI-E) if you want a graphics card you'll have to get a PCI which isn't to clever. I'm waiting for a Dell bargain at the moment, nothing great seems to be available. This is about all I can find, but it's nothing incredible

Dimension 5000 (D04502)
P4 3.0ghz
512mb DDR2 400
160gb harddrive
48x cd rw
no sound card
on board vga
19inch tft monitor
keyboard and mouse
dell printer
free delivery

total price £469

No Graphics card, but you can add a stonker at a later date as it's PCI-E, and it's a nice 19" screen

yes my one is the dimension 3000 im not too bothered with graphics anyways

but ive decided not to buy it in the end
is 367 quid but im saving up for a xbox!

i do think its a good deal tho.
so is yours

There have been loads of Dell bargains around recently. There's a forum here: www.rpoints.com/enquiry where members compete to see who can find the best deal. And they'll give you a 2.5% discount off Dell stuff (in the form of cashback) as well.

One chap recently found a Dell 5000 P4 3Ghz with 19" TFT, 512Mb DDR RAM, 160Gb HD & CDRW for £469 delivered. Have a look in their "Computers & Software" forum.

It seems a pretty good deal to me, i have a 19 inch Dell TFT and the quality is very good, so i would assume that the 17 inch would be retty good too... like everyone has said it depends on what you need the PC for.

well i didnt go for it in the end

but it was a good deal!
