Is there a window media 9 player alternative?

I like WMplayer 6.1 because its simple to use & easy on resources. I
always default all media to 6.1. I do NOT like any thing higher than
wmplayer 7. Any way I use Tmpgenc express, dvd authoring and creator.
but one of the apps says it needs wmplayer 9. Is there any way around
not having to install MS latest media player?

Nope you'll need to have Windows Media Player 9. And I do suggest you to
upgade to Windows Media 9 since it offers new features and more support to
new file extensions.

You will have to stay up with the upgrades. The XP operating system may not
be compatible with older model players. Jym
