Hi all,

Is there a way to flash or quiver the screen at 12:30am every evening to
reminder me that it's time to go to sleep?

I always forgot time when I am at computer and thus I sleep very late, which
is not good at all.

I can definitely schedule a shut-down at 12:30am, but with many windows
opened, a forced shutdown will lead to data-loss for me.

Please give me some ideas!

Thanks a lot!

There are many ways. Download an alarm clock program off the internet or
simply create a notepad text file that says go to bed. Schedule it to run
at 12:30 every day. You could also schedule a sound to play at that
particular time.

No I want something that's even harshier. Something that will flash the
screen or freeze the screen so I won't be able to continue work on my
computer. The only thing I can do then is to save all the works I have(this
may take a while), and then I put the laptop into hibernation and I go to
bed...

Any more thoughts?

Thanks

Schedule a shutdown!

Gary, I don't need something like this. I also don't think it will meet the
requested specifications of the OP either.

It's okay, the only problem it has that it does not have hibernation option,
it will lead to a forced shutdown. Then I lose all opened
applications/documents...

Make sure you have Hibernation enabled in Control Panel ->
Power Options. Set up a scheduled task to run the following
command @ 12:30 AM.

%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState

What you're working on will be available when you start your
computer again.

Good luck
