Is there a way to convert Word document to a .jpg image?

Not directly - but if you download the SnagIt trial from www.techsmith.com
this will add a 'printer' driver that can produce output in a variety of
graphical formats including jpg.

If you have a recent version you should have Microsoft Office Document
Imaging which will produce TIFFs from where it is a small(ish) step to
JPEGs.
