Is SP2 all that's Needed?

If I now do a fresh install............Will SP2 bring me up to
date....without having to install SP1 or any other updates I mean?
I know I'll have to install any updates that come after SP2.
 
Yes...SP2 is all you need.

But until you get SP 2 you'll be completely unprotected.

Huh? Surely that depends on what programs you use & what you have
between your box and and the Internet.

Personally, I will back for a couple of months before I install SP2.
