Hi --

I'm not too network saavy but have managed to put together a wired
network which has functioned for a few years. My current Internet
connection is wired DSL with a Westell 2200 router from Bellsouth.

I'd like to be able to have my notebook computer able to access the
network from downstairs in the house. Obviously, a long, long cable
is not the way to do it.

Is there someway that I can arrange for a wireless connection from
downstairs to upstairs?

If so, what would I need to buy to do this?

Thanks.

Hi
Assuming that the Notebook is already Wireless ready, you need to buy a
Wireless Cable/DSL Router.
If you are pleased with your current Modem/Router configure the Wireless
Router as an Access Point.

Thanks, Jack. I'm pleased to see that it is possible. Now I must
just absorb the content of those references, which does look a little
intimidating.

Tempgal:

I use a Linksys wireless router to connect my laptop (which is downstairs)
to the DSL modem and desktop (which are both upstairs). Nearly all the
time, the signal is excellent.

It does seem to me that my configuration is about the same as yours would
be.
