IRQs above 15

Hi folks,

I've studied that there are 15 standard IRQs, however
there are many more listed above IRQ15 in Device Manager.
I have tried my best to locate some information on this,
however I was not successful.

I would really appreciate some information on this.

Multi-processor systems and the newer, single Hyperthreading CPU systems
will allow IRQ's greater than 15 when running Windows NT, 2000 and XP.
 
Don't worry about it. It is a software representation of a legacy
hardware issue. In a PCI based computer there are only 4 hardware IRQ
lines A,B,C and D.
