Je cherche un moyen de changer d'IRQ pour certain de mes peripheriques car la
carte graphique, le concentratuer USB et Firewire partage l'IRQ 9 et j'ai des
problemes avec mon modem ADSL sur port USB...
Any Ideas ?

Merci

Does the BIOS allow you to set the USB IRQ directly? If not, then you
might be pretty much stuck with the "IRQ" it gives you. What problem is
it actually causing?

Well, my USB ADSL modem is keeps disconnecting after a while and kind of
stuck the system... I thought it was an IRQ problem... I unfortunately can't
change a thing on the Bios... It's a Sony Vaio GRX 670... There's no IRQ
setings in the Bios.
Thanks for trying any way...

Likely not an IRQ issue at all. Have you been getting any error messages
or such to allow troubleshooting the issue?

Ok...
Well I didn't have any error message at all. It's kind of frozen... All my
internet programms stop responding, and got back to work when I unplug the
USB cable... I thought it could be an IRQ problem but may be you're right...
It could be just that my ADSL modem is a peace of "crap"...
Any way, thanks for your help.

My very best

JC

If the only thing "frozen" is the internet related programs I would
suspect there is something "network" related going on. You have a
"clean" PC, no virus, worms, trojans or other nasties running in the
background?

No, no virus or anything like that...
For the network isue... Well I'm sharing that connection with another
computer in peer to peer mode... Could it be that ?

Are you refering to ICS? If so yes that COULD be an issue, and the
cause. Otherwise please describe the connection to the internet, and the
connection/ relationship to the "peer to peer" computer.

Have you tried to use a powered USB hub? Your laptop's USB port may not be
providing enough power to maintain the connection or the laptop could be
powering down the port since it may be incorrectly determining that the port
is not being used.
