I am unable to get the ipconfig.exe cmd line to work and
get the error message "ipconfig.exe is not a valid win 32
application" and on examining the report in the xp backup
utility, it seems this file is corrupted in the mbr. It
used to work previously but I did get a virus (now
removed) Does anyone know a way of fixing his file as it
is interfering with Acronis backup software. My isp seems
unable to help and I have also run the chkdsk utility.
Any help appreciated

Try this: Go to Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter.
In the Command Prompt window type: IPCONFIG , and hit enter.

This is precisely when I do get the error message. I need
to find a way to fix it by somehow repairing the
dcorrupted file.
