I am using a wireless adapter conecting to home computer.
It was working great. then i got zapped by a virus. Got
the OS up and running again but now the ip address
changes itself sometimes when it is running slow. Which
never use to happen. Never run slow I mean and never
changed IP adress. Anyone help me?

I recommend backing up data and then deleting the partition and then
creating it again and then formatting and clean installing XP.
Before connecting to the Internet again, make sure that you either have
the XP ICF enabled or a third-party firewall and an Anti Virus program
and then get all critical updates installed from the Windows Update site.
Also should be using an Anti Spyware program. Really would be best
to be behind a router and have Wireless Security enabled.

Drastic sounding? Yes, but the only sure way to make certain that the
virus issue is resolved.

Of course all backed up data should be scanned for viruses before
bringing it back into the system.
