IP Address not changed

In win XP, I changed the IP addresses through Registry (IP Address,Default Gateway), it gets changed in the Properties window of the TCP/IP connection settings, but it doesn't work, After I restart the system it's workiing
How shall i get those without restarting

Hi Rajmohan.
Why are you using the registry? What's wrong with changing the TCP
properties from network settings?
I assume the registry is read on start up and not referred to again unless
necessary. If you change ip from network settings then xp should update
immediately and not require a reboot (unlike earlier versions of windows).
