invisible folder in windows explorer

I think I created a folder on my laptop computer via the network from
my desktop and uploaded some files.
Actualy, I thought it was already there, but it may not have been.

I cannot see the folder either from my desktop computer or from the
laptop. It is there because I cannot create another with the same
name.

How did I do this and more importantly how do I make this visible?

My Computer, Tools, Folder Options, View tab, check Show hidden files and
folders.
