I'm trying to open a document that someone has e-mailed me. I get a
lot of documents from the same source, and there's never usually a
problem. When I attempt to open this one, I get the error message:

The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions:

-check file permissions for document or drive
-Use the file open dialog box to locate the file

The second of these is what I was doing anyway. I'm not sure how to do
the first one. In any event, I don't think its likely to help. There's
no problem opening other documents in the same folder, and I can open
this problem one using WordPad from its existing location (except I
can't see the images in it).

When using Word, File Open, with the setting to all Word documents,
the document shows up, so Word recognises it, in its location, as
being a word file, which it is.

Any suggestions?
