Unable to reboot main pc. Installed partition manager, could it be the cause
of the above subject? Tried using recovery disk still will not reboot.

this is christine's hubby, I installed paragon partition manager 5.5. I split
the hard drive into 4 parts and made them all active plus a drive
letter.Later I went to install microsoft works, but it started installing to
the C drive, which I did not want, so when spybot asked about registry
changes in C I clicked deny. that's when the pc went nuts. I switched off and
tried to reboot, all I got was the boot screen telling me invalid partition
table. I inserted the recovery diskette and went through the reinstall
routine, took the disks out and rebooted only to be confronted by the same
screen. Now things are worse, tried the recovery disks again, only this time
I selected the scandisk option, after it finished I rebooted using the same
recovery disk. I insert the first installation cd click ok and now get glue
error message (5). Click ok and end up with a black screen with exit
oemsetup, I can type in fdisk but don't know which option to start with. Hope
you can point me in the right direction.

Regards
Mike

I am not familiar with Paragon PM but I would use it if you can to
reverse the four active partitions and make your c:\
which I imagine is where the OS is at the only active partition. I don't
think that fdisk can help now to repair the partition
table. You might want to try a program like xfdisk which is availbable
here
http://www.mecronome.de/xfdisk/

Xfdisk might be able to reverse the four active partitions if Paragon
can not.
