invalid page fault module MFC42.DLL

I just started getting this message. I use win 98 SE and
every time I right click on a exe file I Get this messag
explorer caused an invalid page fault module MFC42.DLL
The right click will work on all other files and folders
but not on exe files. When I double click the exe will
work but when I go to copy, rename, move or any other
right click I get this error. I tried scanning for virus, Repair internet explor
and still the same thing

Help Please THANK

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
